Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center Announces 2026–2027 Season Lineup
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center at the University of Memphis proudly announces the 2026–2027 season of Live at the Scheidt, featuring a bold mix of blues, jazz, opera, comedy and genre-bending contemporary music. This lineup brings together globally recognized artists and standout performers for a season designed to engage, entertain and elevate Memphis audiences.
The season opens September 26, 2026 with Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience. Presented by Morgan Freeman, the production blends live blues musicians with a full symphony and powerful storytelling that traces the roots and global influence of the blues.
On October 16, 2026, Rahsaan Barber + EVERYDAY MAGIC featuring Jeff “Tain†Watts and Nat Reeves delivers a high-level jazz experience. Led by Rahsaan Barber and joined by Jeff “Tain†Watts and Nat Reeves, the ensemble brings bold compositions, expressive improvisation and a fresh take on modern jazz.
The second half of the season opens February 7, 2027 with Gilbert & Sullivan Presents: H.M.S. Pinafore in Concert. This concert presentation of the beloved comic opera by Gilbert and Sullivan delivers witty storytelling, memorable melodies and timeless humor in an engaging and accessible format.
On March 19, 2027, Jermaine “FunnyMaine†Johnson brings a unique one-man show that blends standup comedy with a TED Talk-style experience. Known for his viral content and relatable voice, FunnyMaine combines humor with insight, focusing on helping younger audiences monetize content, build strong personal brands and navigate digital spaces with intention and long-term impact.
The season concludes April 30, 2027 with An Evening with Brass Against, an electrifying ensemble that merges rock and brass into powerful reimagined performances of songs by Rage Against the Machine, Tool and Soundgarden.

Single tickets and season packages for Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience go on sale June 1, 2026.
Single tickets for all other performances will be available July 1, 2026.
